AI song to bass tab converter

Learn the bass line
from an AI song

The groove is there, but nobody ever played it. Upload the generated track and NoteNav writes the bass line as four-string tab, synced to the song, with the guitar parts on their own staves.

How it works

From generated track to bass tab

An MP3 is dropped in, the bass, lead guitar and rhythm guitar parts are written out as tab beside the audio, and the lead part then plays on NoteNav's note highway.

Low end first

The bass, with the band around it

The bass tab leads. The lead and rhythm guitar tabs come from the same upload, so you can see where the bass line sits against the chords.

Bass

4 strings
GDAE55753353

The low end on its own staff: four strings, tuned the way you play, with the line written out note for note.

Audio to bass tabs

Lead Guitar

6 strings
eBGDAE57585885

Melodies, fills and solos: the single-note line that sits on top of the mix, with the fret positions to play it.

Guitar solos to tabs

Rhythm Guitar

6 strings
eBGDAE5757575735353535

The chords and riffs underneath: the part that carries the song, kept apart from the lead so neither clutters the other.

Why tab it out

A bass line nobody has played yet

A generated groove has no bassist behind it: no performance to watch, no lesson, no tab from a fan. To play it, you have to work it out by ear, and bass is the part a busy mix hides best.

NoteNav writes the line note for note on a four-string staff, in the tuning you choose, and keeps it in time with the generated track so you hear each bar as you read it.

Getting a solid bass tab from an AI song

  • Making the song yourself? Ask for a band with a bass guitar in it. A synth bass may not come through as a bass tab.
  • Take the WAV over the MP3 when the app offers both. The cleaner the file, the cleaner the bass tab.
  • Choose the bass tuning before you build. With no artist to look up, there is no suggestion to lean on, and a drop tuning changes which string each note lands on.
  • Tune down if it sits low

Pick from 36 four-string bass tunings, from E Standard and Drop D down to B Standard, so the lowest notes still fit.

  • Slow the groove down

Drop the note highway to 25% to get a fast line under your fingers, then build back up to 150%.

  • Scored as you play

Plug in through an audio interface or use a mic. Notes light up as you hit them, and each run ends with a score.

  • Bass track in Guitar Pro

Export a .gp file with the bass on its own track, next to the guitars.

FAQ

AI bass tab questions

More answers on the FAQ page, or email [email protected].

How accurate are the tabs?

Accurate enough to play straight from. NoteNav writes every part note for note, in playable positions for your tuning and capo, and the tab follows the original recording so you can hear each bar against what you're reading. The first 90 seconds of every song are free, so try it on a song you know and compare it with anything else you've tried.

Can I get a bass tab from an AI-generated song?

Yes. Upload the generated track like any other recording and NoteNav writes the bass line as four-string tab, plus lead and rhythm guitar tabs for any guitars it finds.

What if NoteNav finds no bass line?

It still builds any guitar parts it finds, and the track page tells you which parts were skipped.

Can I play it on a five-string bass?

Bass tabs are written for four strings. If the generated song sits low, choose a lower tuning such as B Standard.

Can I practice the bass line slowly?

Yes. The tab player runs at 0.75×, 1× or 1.25× against the generated track, and the note highway goes from 25% to 150%. Both keep the pitch.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Every new track starts with a free preview of the first 90 seconds, tabbed and playable against the recording. A full song costs 10 credits.
